Comparison Swatches of Taupe Eyeshadows - Chanel Safari, Laura Mercier Topaz, Mac Style Snob, Nars Ashes to Ashes, Stila Cloud, Mac French Grey...

Taupe fans unite! Here's a comparison I did of a bunch of taupe eyeshadows I've owned at some point in time. The only taupes I use now are Urban Decay Shakedown (a dupe of the hard-to-find Mac "French Grey" swatched below) and NARS Ashes to Ashes pictured here. Those colors seem to make my blue-green eyes stand out best. Outdoors, Wet n' Wild Nutty looks quite warm against my fair, cool skintone.

Swatches of Wet n' Wild "Nutty", Mac "Style Snob," Laura Mercier "Topez," Chanel "Safari," Nars "Ashes to Ashes," Mac "French Grey," and Stila "Cloud" against NW15 skin in direct sunlight:

Essie "Vanity Fairest" Nail Polish - Manicure Photos

After hunting for the perfect sheer polish for that clean, natural look, I've found Essie "Vanity Fairest"! It's the perfect pale pinky white color to disguise any yellow tones in my nails (thanks to my love affair with red polish). It doesn't streak as long as you use a base coat, and even without one the consistency is easy to work with. This particular shade of translucent pale pink complements my cool skin tone beautifully. My favorite aspect of Vanity Fairest is the fine shimmer in it that's only visible if you look closely. I also tried the beloved Essie shades "Mademoiselle" and "Sugar Daddy," but they didn't show up well enough on my nails using 2 coats.
